Advanced (A Cappella) Choir

About This Class

A Cappella members will build upon their previous choir experiences to sing a variety of challenging choral repertoire including part-singing and multicultural pieces sung in different languages.  Your child will also fine-tune musical skills such as proper singing technique, singing with expression, reading musical notation.  The A Cappella Choir will have multiple performance opportunities throughout the semester to demonstrate their hard work.

Beginner (Bel Canto) Choir

About This Class

Bel Canto members will sing a variety of choral repertoire including rounds, songs with two-part harmony, and multicultural pieces sung in different languages.  Your child will also fine-tune musical skills such as proper singing technique, singing with expression, and reading musical notation.  The Bel Canto Choir will have multiple performance opportunities throughout the semester to show off their hard work.

Ensemble

About This Class

This is a class for students who are really wanting a fun, yet challenging outlet to fine-tune their music skills.  Ensemble members will build upon their musical knowledge of reading and performing music, and apply it to a new and varied repertoire spanning from classical to rock.  Members will all become masters at Orff instruments, recorders and percussion, and every member is invited to bring in instruments they play outside of school so we can create a sound unique to ourselves.  The Ensemble will have multiple performance opportunities throughout the semester to demonstrate their hard work.

Musical Theater

About This Class

Students in Musical Theater will sing and dance famous Broadway hits. In addition, your child will learn theater basics such as voice projection, pantomime, blocking, song and script analysis, and costume and set design. The Music Theater class will have an opportunity to perform at the end of the semester to demonstrate the synthesis of these different skills.
